Common questions
How do I turn Mindful Minutes in Health on or off?
Mokugyo asks once, when you first open it. To change your answer later, open the Settings app, go to Health → Data Access & Devices → Mokugyo, and turn Mindful Minutes on or off. In Mokugyo, Preferences (the gear) shows whether Health is enabled.
Why did my sitting or chant stop?
A meditation that is interrupted is begun again rather than resumed. A phone call, Siri, an alarm, or leaving the app ends the session. On Apple Watch, lowering your wrist does not end it.
Can Mokugyo silence notifications while I sit?
Apps can’t turn on Do Not Disturb by themselves, but the Shortcuts app can do it for you. In Shortcuts, add an automation: Automation → App → Mokugyo → Is Opened → Set Focus.
Why is the longest sitting on Apple Watch 45 minutes?
watchOS keeps a meditation app running for at most an hour, and a sitting’s countdown and closing bell need room inside it. On iPhone, sittings go up to 60 minutes.
Can I change how fast the sutra goes, or how large it is?
Yes. In Preferences, choose a pace from 100 to 140 beats a minute and a text size of Small, Medium, or Large. On Apple Watch, Large shows fewer rows at a time.
